HUG - Desu Design

The HUG reduces the bowl to its most basic function – holding items in place. Intended to be stationary on a flat surface, HUG simply surrounds its contents. Made of white Solid Surface. Background story: When DESU's product development intern, Elizabeth Cordes approached principal designer David Scott with her idea for a bottomless bowl, she expected him to be a bit put off. As it turned out, Scott was not only open to the idea, but had independently experimented the concept in the past. Great minds think alike and so Cordes got to work, and the HUG was born. Currently in the showroom.

Symbol Coat Rack - Desu Design

This playful but sophisticated coat rack was the result of a domestic argument. We were out of closet space, and the coats were overflowing. But we had an aversion to wall hooks - empty and unattractive many months out of the year. We created the Symbol, a practical object we're happy to look at year-round. During the coatless summer months the Symbol hangs as a purely aesthetic piece, as the hooks lay flat and belie their function. When needed, the hooks pull smoothly out to help you organize your stuff. Available in monochrome or color. Monochrome has an anodized aluminum finish for both the housing and the hooks. Color has white housing and vibrant color anodized hooks. Currently in the showroom.

Made from two satin brushed, anodized aluminum bars that have been machined with weapons grade precision, the bracket easily mounts to the wall and has micro adjustment built in for exact leveling. The 3/8” laminated glass shelf is color tinted, and casts extraordinary color shadows when placed in light. Currently in the showroom.
