Deger Cengiz
Trained as an architect, Deger Cengiz has worked professionally in architecture, archeology and the industrial design fields for the past twenty years. While he creates functional, versatile and affordable pieces, he continues to explore the boundaries between conceptual art and experimental design. His work has been publlished in international architecture books and magazines, exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and included in the permanent collection of the Red Dot Design Museum.

Synthetic fiber cloth, epoxy matrix, Kevlar reinforcement
When a tablecloth is used over a table, the table is used as a support for the tablecloth. To eliminate the need for a supporting table, the tablecloth is stiffened, therby the tablecloth becomes the table. The fiber cloth is sprayed with epoxy and reinforced with Kevlar to create a strong, sturdy table. Each table is uniquely hand-draped.

"Poorprouve" is a wall light fixture, inspired by Jean Prouve's Potence Lamp. In difference; simple copper plumbing pipes and fittings are used for the construction, a wooden base used for fixing the copper structure, a rotary-dimmer is recessed in the wood base and a turn-buckle is added to the tension wire. The extended arm length is customizable up to 8 feet. The lamp can be pivoted 180 degrees with the help of the rotation arm. The base comes in reclaimed red wood or white cedar. The extention arm is foldable for shipping. Currently in the showroom.

The RAFF Shelving is a simple, rational and versatile system. For use at home, in the office or retail display. All of the shelves can be positioned and re-positioned, at any desired height, without the use of any tools. The structural frames attach to the wall and rest on the floor, transferring the weight down to the floor, using the wall connection only for stability. The RAFF Shelves are easier to install than most wall-mounted systems and are perfect in situations where the integrity of the wall is in question, as the wall connection is less critical.

By high-firing the porcelain globe, the global warming process is taken a step further, every globe is warped uniquely; in most cases, the North Cap is collapsed. With a warming red light illuminating through the shrinking continental land masses we are reminded of the fragile planet we live on. Currently in the showroom.
