Benton Custom
Functionality, longevity, pleasing lines and environmental responsibility. Benton Custom's goal is to produce fine furniture that accomplishes these core objectives in equal parts. Each piece is made to order, by hand, one piece at a time, from rough lumber to finished product.
In an effort to reduce the strain on our environment, salvaged, reclaimed and/or sustainable and responsibly harvested woods- as well as environmentally friendly finishes - are used whenever possible. Only the most fundamentally sound joinery is used, indeed, instead of cutting corners Benton Custom tend to overbuild, with an eye toward core objective number two above. Final shaping is done strictly by hand, where every surface is sculpted, smoothed and softened, in order to beg your touch

Nikki Bench - Benton Custom

Air dried black walnut, stainless steel cable, arakawa. Hand rubbed oil/wax finish.
This bench is very thin at the edges to give a light feel but thicker in the middle to support great weight. The cables below the seat come under tension when the bench is in use; they can serve as a shelf for shoes, briefcase, etc.
